Ship management,engineered for reliability.
Altair Ships brings repair & maintenance engineering, technical ship management, and crew management together under one operator — so an owner has a single team to call, not three separate contracts to chase.
What we do
Repair, technical management and crewing — under one roof.
These are usually three separate contracts with three separate providers. Altair runs them as a single, coordinated operation, so nothing gets lost between teams.
On board, on the tools
The work behind the service lines.
A sample of what Altair teams are actually doing on a vessel — from dry-dock to bridge equipment — rendered here as original illustration rather than stock photography.
Dry-Docking & Underwater Repairs
Dry-dock planning and attendance, class survey coordination, and underwater hull, propeller and rudder repairs.
Hull & Tank Coating
Hull blasting and painting, cargo and ballast tank coating renewal, and cathodic protection replacement.
Cargo Tank Hot Work
Certified hot work and welding repairs inside cargo tanks, under full gas-free and confined-space controls.
Hatch & Hold Cleaning
Cargo hold and hatch cleaning between charters, including gas-freeing and residue disposal coordination.
BWTS Installation
Ballast Water Treatment System installation, commissioning and annual servicing to Convention requirements.
Main Engine Overhauling
Main and auxiliary engine overhauls — crankshaft, bearing, liner and cylinder head work, planned or emergency.
Pump & Piston Overhaul
Dismantling, piston and ring renewal, and reassembly of cargo, ballast, fuel and fresh-water pumps.
Bridge Equipment: Radar & ECDIS
Supply, installation, servicing and annual testing of radar, ECDIS and navigation electronics.
Why Altair
One operator. Full accountability.
One operator, one point of contact
Repair, technical management and crewing are coordinated by a single Altair team — not three vendors passing a file between them.
Engineering-led, not sales-led
Repair and maintenance recommendations are based on technical suitability, not a target attached to any one parts supplier.
Compliance built into the routine
SOLAS, MLC, Flag State and Class requirements are tracked as part of the standard operating rhythm — not chased before survey.
Built for how a fleet grows
Altair’s systems and vendor network are structured to scale alongside the owners who partner with us.
About Altair
A new-generation ship manager, run on established discipline.
Altair Ships is headquartered in New Town, Kolkata, West Bengal. We were built to close a gap owners feel constantly: coordinating separately with a repair yard, a technical manager, and a crewing agent, each holding only part of the picture.
Altair holds all three under one roof, so decisions get made faster and nothing falls into the gap between contractors.
